Song from The Good Wife S03E15 (Live From Damascus)

I used to make fun of Grey’s Anatomy (back when I was still watching the show before it became too ridiculous) for always putting in touchy-feely, sentimental indie songs during the closing montage. Oh please, so manipulative!! But this is the second week in a row I have gone bonkers for a song playing in the closing few minutes of a show. This time it’s from The Good Wife. The song is “Seven Days” by Azure Ray, and it plays over the scene of Will leaving the office for the last time before his 6 months suspension.

Seven Days (Azure Ray)

They’re seven days below us
That keep me hovered above the ground
And nights just blend into the morning
Definition is the first to go down

If i were to stay here between us
I might forget where I’m bound
So I can’t stay in between us
I guess I’ll walk away

And here to read the future
But forced to breathe out the past
And too many conversations
To uncover what was purposefully lost

And we all looked so desperate
Showing the guidance that we lack
And we used to be so wistful
I guess we feel it’s safer holding back

If I were to stay here between us
I might forget where I’m bound
So I can’t stay in between us
I guess I’ll walk away

And yup, another elevator scene between Will and Alicia, only this time, Will is the only one getting into the elevator. Is the elevator door closing between them supposed to be some sort of metaphor?

All in all, I prefer this elevator scene from Season 2 finale, and the song playing over it:

Any Other World (Mika)

In any other world
You could tell the difference
And let it all unfurl
Into broken remnants

Smile like you mean it
And let yourself let go

Cos it’s all in the hands of a bitter, bitter man
Say goodbye to the world you thought you lived in
Take a bow, play the part of a lonely lonely heart
Say goodbye to the world you thought you lived in
To the world you thought you lived in

I tried to live alone
But lonely is so lonely, alone
So human as I am
I had to give up my defences

So I smiled and tried to mean it
To let myself let go

Cos it’s all in the hands of a bitter, bitter man
Say goodbye to the world you thought you lived in
Take a bow, play the part of a lonely lonely heart
Say goodbye to the world you thought you lived in
To the world you thought you lived in

Cos it’s all in the hands of a bitter, bitter man
Say goodbye to the world you thought you lived in
Take a bow, play the part of a lonely lonely heart
Say goodbye to the world you thought you lived in
To the world you thought you lived in

Say goodbye to the world you thought you lived in [x2]
Say goodbye

In any other world
You could tell the difference
